Trying out the Sigma 10-20mmBorrowed a Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM from a friend. This is Sigma's competition to Canon's 10-22mm EF-S lens. Very bizzare working with a lens that is this wide but also a lot of fun once you get used to it. It would be fun to compare with the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. I guess I need another friend interested in wide angle lens. :)

Montreal High Lights FestivalSometimes things aren't meant to be. On the first night of the festival I went out with my 17-40mm lens (non IS), a monopod (not a tripod), and the camera set to a custom fluorescent light white balance. Well thank God for raw convertors. Using the new free RawShooter I was able to salvage the white balance and even with high ISO noise because I didn't have a tripod I was able get a few decent shots. This was to be a trial run but unfortunately I was unable to go back - ah, there's always next year.
